Use the calculator below to calculate door lite frame dimensions.

Measure either the outside or inside dimensions of the door lite frame.

Measuring Glass Thickness

To determine the thickness of the glass, measure the distance from the glass surface to the top of the door lite frame profile. Then, refer to the provided dimensions to find out the glass thickness based on your measurement. While your measurement may not be perfectly accurate, it should still give you a good idea of the glass thickness.

Miscellaneous Measurements

Glass Dimensions: The listed size refers to the dimensions of the glass that fits within the door lite frame.

Door Cut Out Dimensions: The door cut out dimensions are approximately 1″ larger than the glass size. This ensures that there is enough space to accommodate the frame and allows for a proper installation.

Frame Inside Dimensions: The inside dimensions of the door lite frame are approximately 1″ smaller than the glass size.

Frame Outside Dimensions: The outside dimensions of the door lite frame are roughly 2″ larger than the glass size.

Other Dimensions:

Standard door thickness is 1-3/4″.

Decorative glass, it is typically 1″ thick, although occasionally it may be 1/2″ thick.

Clear insulated glass units can have a thickness of either 1/2″ or 1″.

For clear non-insulated flat glass, the standard thickness is 1/8″.

Please note that these measurements are general guidelines, and slight variations may exist.
